High School Theatre Festival - May 8, 2025
Contact education@thefulton.org for more information. The High School Theatre Festival allows students and teachers grades 9 to 12 to engage in a full day of theatre arts performance and instruction led by the professional theatre artists, designers, directors, and educators who share their talents with the Fulton each season. So that the High School Theatre Festival is as enriching a learning experience as possible, pre-Festival Study Guides are distributed to students and teachers approximately one month before their visit to the Fulton, with additional learning materials distributed throughout the day’s event. Written by our theatre’s Director of Education, with additional support from the appropriate artistic and production staff members, these materials explore the ways in which ideas are taken from “page to stage” and detail the roles a Director, Dramaturg, Designer, Actor, and Critic play in bringing a theatre performance to life. In doing so, student concepts and competencies about the process of live theatre are developed and a deeper appreciation for the arts fostered. It is through the High School Theatre Festival that the Fulton looks to enhance the high school learning process and contribute towards the educational, cultural, and social growth of the students it involves.
